| Eagle News. Probably one of the only things that has changed my life forever. Crazy enough, I didn't want to do it at first. When I was in 6th grade, watching Eagle News was like going to Disney World all over again. It amazed me. Watching 2 people have the courage to talk to the whole school, without freaking out. And the groups of people making videos for our entertainment. Once I saw that first episode, I was pulled in. Then time passed, it was never as amazing as that first episode, but I still had my eyes glued on the screen. I didn't know those students went up and did Eagle News, I didn't know why they made the videos, didn't all schools have a broadcast? I didn't care, I told myself, But when I'm in 8th grade, I wanted to do what those 8th graders were doing. As time went on, I became less, and less interested. Then it was the ending of 7th grade, it was time to pick the classes for my 8th grade year. I go through the list, and there were classes like Global Gourmet 1 & 2, 4 kinds of art classes, gym, etc. But when I saw video news, I wasn't interested. Summer passed, and it was the first day of 8th grade. I couldn't wait to do all these fun classes. Then, when I got my whole year schedule, I was upset and disappointed, my schedule wouldn't allow me to have any of class I wanted. I had 3 choices; Gym, Study Hall, or Eagle News. I had one day to decide, then all the wonderful memories came to be from watching Eagle News, I decided to do it. I was really upset, but I thought maybe this could be better. I am now so glad I did it! It is very special to me. I learned I had talents that I didn't know about earlier. I have learned life lessons, met new friends, and, most importantly, for filled my dreams since I was in 6th grade. I am happy with Eagle News, it's now a big part of me. Thank you Mr. Meta for having a different, but amazing class that brings out the best in people. |
